Collected from the rugged hillsides near Rollinsville, Colorado, this Goldfire Schist formed through intense heat, pressure, and hydrothermal alteration deep within the Front Range. The stone is defined by layered mica-rich schist with streaks of iron oxidation and metallic mineralization running through the rock. Within these mineralized seams are traces of naturally occurring electrum — a gold and silver alloy historically associated with hydrothermal ore systems.
Samples from the material used in this jewelry were tested by Hazen Research and confirmed the presence of electrum within the stone. Depending on the cut, pieces may reveal bright metallic flashes, shimmering mica layers, or darker textured sections marked by red and gold-toned mineral staining. No two pieces share the same pattern or mineral distribution.
Each stone is hand-collected, shaped, stabilized, and sealed to preserve both structural integrity and natural surface texture while enhancing the contrast between dark metamorphic layers and reflective mineral inclusions.
